The Stein Collection Connection Committee
The Collection Connection Committee (CCC) is a group of Stein Collection employees. The mission of this group is to foster opportunities for charitable giving, volunteerism, and community development in Park City and beyond amongst all Stein Collection team members. The committee was born out of a desire to give back to the community where we work and live. "We are fortunate to have so many people in our ranks with a huge heart for service. In considering that, it was only natural to try and unite our efforts under the banner of the collection," says Kathy Healy and Emily English, co-chairs of the group.
The committee was founded last year. Its primary goals are to focus most of its efforts in the Park City area, raise a minimum of $10,000 to be donated in 2024, and donate 150 hours of service and volunteer work.
The CCC meets monthly to generate new service ideas, facilitate event execution, and think critically about achieving their strategic goals. There are currently two co-chairs and thirteen active committee members. The CCC welcomes all team members to participate in group-sponsored activities and always accepts suggestions for organizations in need.
Last fall, the committee hosted an employee bake sale and raised over $2,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a national breast cancer organization with chapters in Utah.
Momentum and exposure from the first bake sale allowed the CCC to recruit new committee members and start to get serious about setting a mission and vision for the group. Deliberate goals were set, and the committee is ready to accomplish them. Another welcome outcome of the CCC's efforts is a greater sense of belonging amongst the team, which will increase as the group grows.
This spring, the committee held a cookie sale to raise money for the Park City Education Foundation, benefiting Park City's education system. This sale was connected to the Running with Ed event, in which Stein Collection employees, including members of the CCC, were able to participate.
Last week, the committee held an event to benefit PAWS for Life, a local animal shelter. The event raised $775 in cash, over $400 in pet food and items donated, and six pets were adopted. This event also welcomed a handful of puppies and kittens to the gorgeous Flagstaff Deck at Stein Eriksen Lodge. These furry friends were a fun surprise for many guests and team members.
The CCC has many more events as it continually seeks ambitious goals. "We are excited to partner with Deer Valley Resort for the annual Halloween Blood drive and look forward to supporting the Christian Center of Park City's holiday season coat and toy drives," says Healy. This new partnership and the continued support of another great local organization will surely be a success. Besides that, with two former working pastry chefs as co-chairs, you can bet the CCC will host a few more bake sales, too!
We are incredibly proud of the many caring, hard-working, community-focused, committed, exceptional individuals with broad interests and concerns working to improve the world around them. This committee's efforts will go a long way in helping others, shaping solid characters, and building strength in the community.
